HI,

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question

First, what scan tool are you using

Second, has any control module been recently replaced

Third, the U1000 is coming up individually when scanning the BCM, ECM an IP Cluster, correct?

Ask Your Own Pontiac Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
No module has been changed.. it started with no start .. fixed that and now this u1000 code.. it is active on engine , body control module and cluster.. Abs light and e brake light stay on.. but there in no active abs fault..
Pontiac Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 10 months ago

Ok, have you tried communicating with each of the modules with your scan tool

Before replacing fuel pump did try resetting security system with key on for 10 min.. then off.. just in case that was cutting off fuel supply
Pontiac Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 10 months ago

HI,

Ok, do you have a full function scan tool such as the Tech2 that has option for opening communication with the individual control modules

Ask Your Own Pontiac Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
I have and the only one that doesn't is the electronic brake control
Pontiac Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 10 months ago

Hi,

Ok, you will need to check the voltage circuits and ground circuits to the EBCM and if ok, replace the EBCM.

Do you have a connector pinout for the EBCM or do you need one

Ask Your Own Pontiac Question
Customer reply replied 10 months ago
No i need one.. the codes will clear except on the engine control module then you start the car and they come back on in the cluster and body module
Pontiac Mechanic: Eric, Automotive Repair Shop Manager replied 10 months ago

HI,

Ok, connector pinout is attached with the 2 power feed and 2 grounds highlighted.

The U1000 codes are a bit deceiving at times as they dont show on the control module that is not communicating, so most people assume it is a problem with the one(s) that the code is stored in, but that is usually not the case. The one that isnt communicating cannot have it stored in it since there is absence of communication. That loss of communication to the other modules is what sets the U1000 in those modules.

This is either going to be a faulty EBCM or wiring issue to it
