The gear shift is stuck in park. I have break lights. 2007

Customer Question

The gear shift is stuck in park
JA: Do you have brake lights? Have any trouble codes popped up?
Customer: Yes I have break lights
JA: What is the model/year of your Pontiac?
Customer: 2007 torrent
JA: Are you fixing your Torrent yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes I would like to fix it myself and so far I've checked fuses and my break lights as per another post on the same problem
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not really I need to put a little air in the tires but I doubt that's relevant

I am sorry that you have not been helped yet. I just came online and saw your question

This is most likely the shift interlock solenoid/actuator. I need to know whether yours is a column or floor shifter to pull the schematics
