Pontiac Problems? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will assist you. You said that you tested the alternator; what was your result?
ok, great. And could you verify that the code is 1374
Which engine do you have?
Thank you. give me one moment
Have you followed the wires all the way from the crankshaft position sensor as far as you could trace them? It is common that below the alternator the wiring insulation for the ckp will deteriorate and short intermittently.
No, you shouldn't have to remove the alternator, but you may need to remove some of the conduit. To be clear, it is the sensor located on the side of the engine block, near the oil pan; it is not the sensor behind the crankshaft pulley
Do you have any further questions for me?
