I have a Pontiac G6 2.4l that I replaced the throttle body

Customer Question

I have a Pontiac G6 2.4l that I replaced the throttle body on and it seems that the idle relearn is taking excessively long. Its about 200 miles now with a new throttle body and the idle is all over the place.

hey how are you

200 miles a way more than you need to relearn , something not right.

1- try the relearn again ( make sure battery fully charged)

2- did you use the a dealer scanner or equivalent to do relearn or you did manual method

3- was Throttle body new part

4- is there a check engine light on now ?

5- what are the fault codes

6- did you change the Throttle body gasket

Please let me know

Thank You

Did you replace the Accelerator Pedal position sensor with New TB body assembly .?

these 2 parts are replaced together and relearn at same time

if the Accelerator pedal is okay then I go to The ECM , if it is not able to perform the relearn successfully because the ECM is defective

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Can I monitor the accelerator position pedal parameter somehow to diagnose it?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The problem was not there before I replaced the throttle body. It just had a throttle body code.
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 11 months ago.

yes , it depends on the scanner you have

it will be under TPS Reading : TPS1 & TPS2

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Which one is 1 and which one is 2?
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 11 months ago.

on the scanner it will say TPS 1 And TPS 2 ,

not sure if i understand the question ask me again ?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is throttle body sensor usually TPS1 and the accelerator pedal usually TPS2 or does it depend on make/model.
Expert:  Chad Farhat replied 11 months ago.
