I have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville that will shift into all

Customer Question

I have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville that will shift into all gears and will slightly feel as if it is trying to move the car (very slightly) however not more than just a rocking if that. any ideas why this would occur. Trans is full of fluid but I purchased the car used and it has not been serviced that I know of.
JA: How old is the transmission? Have you checked the brake switch?
Customer: the emergency brake has been released
JA: Are you fixing your Bonneville yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: would like to but I haven't tried anything yet. didn't know if it could be something I could fix. trying to determine this.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: not at this time.

good afternoon my name is ***** ***** I will assist

it could be a clogged filter. you could drop the pan and change the filter and the fluid.

other wise, either the front pump has failed or the torque converter has failed. either way, the trans would have to be removed and inspected for the failure
