Is there a way to recover my original BCM code for my 2006

Customer Question

Is there a way to recover my original BCM code for my 2006 gto?
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: #06-08-47-003: this is the GM bulletin that tells exactly what the BCM code is used for
JA: Are you fixing your GTO yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Trying to reprogram my BCM using a Tech 2 device and its requires my BCM code, which disables the immobilizer
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: That's all

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!

What's discussed in the TSB you mentioned is the immobilizer code. If you no longer have record of the immobilizer code then a dealer's parts or service department will need to retrieve it, which is done using the VIN. If you see your dealer with the VIN and proof of vehicle ownership they will be able to obtain it for you, as long as their internal policy allows for it. Some dealers will not release security or key codes to the public.
