2000 Grand Prix GTP cranks but won't turn over. Had security

Customer Question

2000 Grand Prix GTP cranks but won't turn over. Had security checked so it is not shutting it down. Real head scratcher
JA: Have you checked the fuel supply? And are all the spark plugs working?
Customer: Yes, had a coolant leak a few weeks ago, had repaired. wondering is crank sensor might have gotten wet and shorted out. Sometimes the car will crank after 20 or 30 tries.
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I work for a repair shop (bookkeeper). I have 2 mechanics at a loss. They have checked everything they can come up with. Don't want to start just throwing parts at it.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Replaced fuel pump about a month ago. Also the information center is going in and out...mostly out. Car has 143,000 miles. THe car has been well maintained.
