JA: What is the model/year of your Pontiac?
Customer: it is a 2000 bonneville
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried to disconnect the fuse but the car keeps flashing stuff about the auto theft system
JA: Have you checked the vehicle's manual yet?
Customer: yes I am trying to disconnect the security system because something is causing the battery in the car to die quickly
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?

IF you are referring to the "Factory Alarm"
Your vehicle has a "Transponder" in the Key & Security System that honks the Horns & flashes the Lights
You cannot "disconnect" the Factory Alarm, as it is built into the vehicle Computer.
Unlocking either Front Door with key or Factory Remote should "DisArm" the Factory Alarm.
Otherwise, remove the Driver Door Panel & locate the LIGHT GREEN wire & Ground the LIGHT GREEN wire.
This will DisArm the Factory Alarm (horns & lights), but will NOT DisArm the "Transponder" in the Key.
You need a Factory Programmed Key for the Transponder
