Have you checked for codes yet? If not do you have a way to?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can't check codes
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

Theres probably codes that will make your job a lot easier.

Do you have a multimeter?

What position is the top in right now?

Are you able to help it with your hand and then does it move?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The top had just started open with the trunk fully open when it stopped. With help I was able to manually close roof and had to disconnect piston from trunk to get it to close but nether are locked down at this time
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

OK. So it is driveable now right?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
At low low speed it is roof and trunk are not in lock possition
Expert:  Kavey replied 1 year ago.

Im gonna have to opt out here. Was hoping you could drive it somewhere to get the codes checked. There should be a code letting us know which direction to go without it Im not sure.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

There are several things that could be preventing the top from working.

If you still hear the pump continue to run when the top doesn't move then the problem could be mechanical (probably not the case if it moved by hand), low fluid or the pump may have failed. I'm assuming that you hear no noise when trying to move the top.

If you hear no noise then the module that controls top functions is almost surely stopping movement because of an input. Microswitches are used to monitor the state of each component during operation and if it sees a component in an incorrect state then it will stop operation. You could have a switch, wiring or mechanical issue preventing a switch state from being correct.

You can do a visual inspection of wiring and mechanical components, if no problems are seen then a scan tool will be necessary to diagnose the issue.
