The cables were badly corroded and need to be replaced. JA:

Customer Question

The cables were badly corroded and need to be replaced.
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with Pontiac. The Pontiac Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: I have the new cable but on the negative side there is a harness with a small wire coming off of it that the old cable ran through. Can you tell me what that small cable goes to?
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: I've already changed the positive one
JA: Is there anything else the Pontiac Mechanic should be aware of about your Pontiac?
Customer: It is a 2005 grand prix
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Pontiac Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Hello my name is***** would like to try to help with your problem. Is the wire in question a thin ( thinner than the negative cable ) black wire that goes into a plastic harness cover?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it is thinking but I think it is multi-colored
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is thin
Expert:  Roy Scarlett replied 1 year ago.
Looking at the cable that thin wire goes to other ground wires which then go to a common ground connection.
Expert:  Roy Scarlett replied 1 year ago.
Are there any other wires on the negative cable?
