I have a 2002 pontiac grand em. My car makes this high pitch sound way i discribe the sound like a high pitch cricket when it idle's. This happens all the time, as i accelerate the pitch goes on continue high pitch.

  1. Is the noise effecting the engine or transaxle performance?
  2. Any warning lights on?
  3. When you rev the engine does the sound change or if its a non continuous noise does the occurrence speed up?
  4. If you spray some water on the belt, does the noise change?

the engine is find far as i know. i have no problem driving it. it is just a noise that i hear, on contunues base. when i rev the sound would go on a long pitch but when i idle it just sounds like a cricket
