2004 pontiac grand am. Has started hard when warm and sits

Customer Question

2004 pontiac grand am. Has started hard when warm and sits for more than 10 minutes for several years but always fired up quick when cold. Now it's starting hard all of the time and I can smell fuel when it fires up, but that clears up almost right away. Fuel mileage hasn't changed.

Check The fuel pressure regulator diaphram for leakage. They sometimes rupture and send fuel through the vacuum fitting into the intake, flooding the car. im sending you a picture. Unplug the vacuum hose and start the car. if fuel leaks out , the regulator is bad
