2008 Pontiac G6 GT. (3.5) AC stopped working simultaneous

Customer Question

2008 Pontiac G6 GT. (3.5)
AC stopped working simultaneous with engine coolant needle dropping to 100 degrees.
Gauge works when engine starts but drops to low end of gauge.
Checked all fuses for AC. Okay.
Replaced ECT sensor but did not fix.
After two weeks, both began working again.
I suspect a module or a relay but have no clue.
Can you help?

Hello nd welcome to JustAnswer!

You may have more than one issue going on. The a/c not working may be unrelated to the temperature gauge issue but it's possible that an inaccurate coolant temperature reading is disabling the a/c. If the sensor has been replaced then an inaccurate coolant temp signal would have to be a wiring issue.

The first step in diagnosing the problem is checking for fault codes. Has this been done?
