1998 Pontiac Grand Prix. Wifes car. Check Engine Soon light on. Operation appears normal. Is there a risk to her driving this car until I come home a week from now?

Hello, my name is***** the car is running fine and if the check engine light is not flashing then it should be fine to drive. It may simply be a loose gas cap. She can always take the car to an auto parts store and have the computer scanned for codes. If you bring me the codes I can tell you how serious it is.
