It is not the key anymore - it is the steering wheel that will not unlock. The ignition key will start the car and stop - its the steering wheel that is locked and wount unlock.

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
The first thing you need to do is contact your dealer with your vin number and see if Product Safety Campaign 14063A has been performed on the vehicle The vehicle may also be involved in Product Safety Campaigns 14113A and 14133A, which should be completed, if necessary, at the time Product Safety Campaign 14063A is performed. Have any needed Campaigns performed if they have not been done. These programs call for replacing a bad ignition switch and that is a very common fault on your 2004 as well.
