Customer Question

I have a 2000 Grand Prix, Pontiac. It had to have its factory securitysecurity system dismantled, in order to get the car back from a young Lady who wouldn't pay her debt/rental on car. So the security light has always blinked for five months, at two months I replaced the Max airflow censor, BC that's what read on meter to b the most promising idea to fix problem at that time. And it has always smelled as if it were gnna overheat or as if it were melting plastic. The tempature more often than not didn't seem to be right on but not completely wrong. Also now turning signals, automatic seat adjustment knobs, automatic locks on doors n alzso windshield wipers sometimes just don't work at all or will just start switching on n off on its own. So I need to break the security to c if some of it will stop. Right now its over heating slowly,n just stops running, motor will shut down on road n while parked n its getting more frequent

Hi For this overheating issue, we need to check the basic things first:Are the cooling fans working when hot and when the AC is on?Is the coolant clean and at the correct level? Is the thermostat sticking?Have you performed a compression test to check the heads and gaskets?- - It may take me 1-2-3-etc... responses to get the information I need resulting in giving you the answer you need. I can't read minds nor have a magic wand, & I'm not there to see, smell, feel, or hear so I need good information to return a good answer. My normal hours online are 3pm-3am. There are 2 services your receiving 1: from Just Answer whom has already collected the deposit/question value 2: from me (not an employee of the website & have no control over anything except what I type.) You will be asked to RATE THE SERVICE, your rating me, my response, not the website, rating has no effect on your payment, and it DOES NOT close the post. A rating IS REQUIRED, if you can't complete the required rating today, let me know why so I can get you exactly what's needed. Thanks Chris
