how do i remove the old pully on a power steering pump in a 1999 pontiac grand am 3.4 liter
Hello,
My name is XXXXX XXXXX I am here to assist you with your question and help you resolve your concern.

To remove and install the pulley on your pump you will need the puller and installer tools, if you do not have them, you can usually rent them for a small fee at most local part stores.

the pully is plastic and came right off, its the gear looking thing behind it that i need to get off, it looks like an allen wrench inside but it doesnt move

That where you will need the puller.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

so its pressed on, the allen wrench bolt has nothing to do with it?

Yes its pressed on to the Pump shaft. The allen wrench slot is to hold the shaft from turning but you should not need to do that if you get the puller set.
