Hello! What kind of problem are you having and what all have you done so far?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

they key has got the ohm microchip the wire inside the ingnition is broke so we bypassed the wires below the steering column. we ohmed the key got the correct resistor for the ohms and the security light still blinks didnt make a change. trying not to tear the steering column apart

OK, that makes sense.

To answer your question, there isn't a "reset" for this system. It either works, or it does not.

So now we need to figure out why the "bypass" isn't working.

Which side of the harness did you install the resistor? column side or dash side? What is the resistance of the resistor installed?
Customer: replied 6 years ago.

dash side the 12 ohm the key read out at 11.7 ohms the 12 ohm resistor is 5% either way.

OK, I see your problem.

Your meter should have been on the "K" scale (Kilo Ohms). The lowest resistor valve (key #1) is 400 Ohms (0.4K) and the highest is 14.8K Ohms. So your key is a #15 (14.8K Ohms). You need a 15K resistor (15,000 Ohms)!!!
