Hello     I'm looking to replace a leaking manifold gasket on a 1998 Pontiac Sport. I would like to get an approximate cost. Is this a straight forward effort or is it more than that?
Thank you for your attention.   Gerald Piper ***@******.***

Is this a Montana sport with the V-6 engine?

Thanks, Carguyjosh

I'ts a V-6.

The labor manual calls for 6.3 hours. I can tell you that this job will normally run about $550 for the parts and labor..

There is nothing straight forward about replacing these lower intake gaskets. If you open the hood and take a look at the engine, pretty much everything that you see will be coming off.

I have done this repair atleast 100 times and it is still a pain in the rear...

Now, if this is something that you would like to do yourself, I'd be more that happy to help you through it. Like I had said, (I've done plenty)..LOL..

Please let me know what else I can assist with...Thanks, Josh

There is a sport for sale for $900.00 and it needs a gasket replaced. I think it's a good deal. Thank you. Gerald piper
