I broke the bottom off the tube sensor in the salt tub.

Customer Question

I broke the bottom off the tube sensor in the salt tub .
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: Therefore, I do not want softener to run a cycle, as it wont be able to adjust the water level. My plan is to get a new tube as quickly as possible. How can I stop it from running until then?
JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: It just broke off tonite while I was cleaning it- I do not know how it gets a dirty ring around sides, with a few leaves and some grit, perhaps we need to wipe the salt bags down before pouring in the salt,
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes, I really cant afford a plumber right now.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just where I can get a replacement tube, and how to keep it from cycling for now

You should have a bypass valve on top of the softener
