I have a whirlpool hot water heater that no longer makes hot

Customer Question

I have a whirlpool hot water heater that no longer makes hot water. The electrician/plumber says it needs to be replaced. My father bought the unit and has since passed away. I have no paperwork, but the machine says it has a lifetime warranty. Lowes Hardware says they need a number from the Whirlpool people before they can do anything. Can you help?

I'm sorry but no water heater has a lifetime warranty. This unit has a 9 year warranty. If you can provide the serial number I can probably look up when it was made. If it's less than 9 years old you may have a warranty claim but you would need to contact Whirlpool directly.
