I just installed a new gas hot water tank the same size and rating as the old tank. I am having a issue with the pressure relief valve leaking.

Try to trigger it and let it re-seat. Don't fully pull it, just enough to get a nice flow of water out. If it doesn't re-seat, it will have to be replaced.
