We installed a new hot water heater control unit which restored

Customer Question

We installed a new hot water heater control unit which restored a working pilot light, but now with the pilot light ON, it goes OFF when we turn the burner ON. What is wrong?

Does the main burner go out too? what's the brand and model of your unit?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The main burner never was on. So the answer is: It was off and it stays off.

Does the pilot go out when you release the button/dial on the gas valve?

I'm logging off for the night. I'm going to open this backup to my colleagues so one of them can help. Please don't respond (even to acknowledge this post)until you get a response from us. If you respond first it will only delay your answer.
