I am putting in a propane gas line under a driveway and want

Resolved Question:

I am putting in a propane gas line under a driveway and want to put the copper tube inside 3/4 plastic pipe to protect it from the soil, rocks etc. I am using type L flexible copper and want to put a swage soldered connection instead of flare fittings for the connections inside the plastic pipe. I have the swage tool and have experience with soldering copper water lines. My question is this: what solder and flux is recommended for this application?

Welcome to Just Answer, I will do my best to help you solve your problem

Rick the plumber :

You can't solder this. You must use flared fittings.

Rick the plumber :

and if you want to use copper your propane can contain no more than than an average of 0.3 grains of hydrogen sulphide per 100scf (.07 mg/100L)

Rick the plumber :

contact your propane supplier for this spec
