VerifiedThank you for your question. The swelling you are experiencing is normal following your injury. The swelling will appear more on one side one day and then more on the other side another day. This is how healing takes place with facial injury. Total healing time takes 6-12 months. During that time you will see differences in each side of your face. The cheek swelling in not permanent. Do not be surprised if you start to see swelling even lower in the face and possibly into the neck area over the next few weeks. This is normal healing and related to gravity. You should be examined by your surgeon for follow up care and you should discuss your concerns with your surgeon. I am available if you have more questions.
