Can you help with a technical problem with my cordless phone. The message on the phone say something like Voicemail msg. via phone co.

Technician's Assistant: Did this handset come with your system, or was it bought separately?

Yes

Technician's Assistant: Do all the handsets show the same message?

Technician's Assistant: Is there anything else the Phone Expert should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

Yes I spoke with Spectrum and they could not find anything on their end and suggested that I call you.

To help with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Model Number of the phone SYSTEM you are working with? If this is a cordless system, that model should be printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the LARGER MAIN base.

2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

3) Can you do a quick TEST for me? That TEST is to pick up any cordless handset - while NOT on a call - press the TALK (or SPEAKER) button, and QUICKLY LISTEN for a dial tone. Please let me know if you hear ANYTHING BEFORE the STEADY dial tone - such as a few beeps or "pulsed" dial tones.

Hi again,

Without the information requested in my previous response, I can only give you a general answer, but I hope this helps.

To turn OFF the "Voicemail msg. via phone co." Indicator on MOST Panasonic phone systems, you can press and HOLD the # (pound) key - until the unit "beeps". The Voicemail msg. via phone co. message should go away - but MAY come back on.

When the "Voicemail msg. via phone co." appears - it is typically because the phone service provider's "Voicemail system" is picking up calls - instead of any home Answering System. To correct this, you MAY want to contact your phone service provider's support group and have them configure their voicemail service differently - such as increasing the number of rings before their system answers calls. Once done, then the home Answering System will be able to take the calls before the voicemail system picks up.
