I have had this...

I have had this panasonic phone for a long time. I moved from Colorado Springs to Michigan and I was given a new number. (###) ###-#### When this phone was connected in Michigan with this new phone number, on the screen of the phone it says voicemail msg via phone co. When I access the voicemail it says the number you have dialed is not valid. Please try the number again. the number that appears on the phone is(###) ###-#### this was my phone number in colorado springs. I cannot erase the message that says Voicemail msg. via phone co. I cannot see the date or time on my phone because of this message.

There are two model numbers. KX-TG585SK and KX-TGF370. The S/N number is *****

I moved to Michigan on November 2 and have had this problem ever since then. I tried erasing the message but it won't erase

To help with this issue, may I ask:

1) What CURRENT landline phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

2) Can you do a quick TEST for me? That TEST is to pick up any cordless handset - while NOT on a call - press the TALK (or SPEAKER) button, and QUICKLY LISTEN for a dial tone. Please let me know if you hear ANYTHING BEFORE the STEADY dial tone - such as a few beeps or "pulsed" dial tones.

I do not hear anything but the dial tone

OK -

To turn OFF the "Voicemail msg. via phone co." Indicator on MOST Panasonic phone systems, you can press and HOLD the # (pound) key - until the unit "beeps". The New Voice Mail message should go away - but MAY come back on.

When the "Voicemail msg. via phone co." appears - it is typically because the phone service provider's "Voicemail system" is picking up calls - instead of any home Answering System. To correct this, you MAY want to contact your phone service provider's support group and have them turn OFF their voicemail service. Once done, then the home Answering System will be able to take the calls again.
