We have a...

We have a cordless telephone/answering system with caller ID/ call waiting. Our son set it up and some how all call are blocked. How do we get the calls unblocked?

Technician's Assistant: Did this handset come with your system, or was it bought separately?

It came with the system. We have 5 head sets

Technician's Assistant: Do all the handsets show the same message?

Yes, our son tried to call, and it blocked his call, another caller who is in my directory said his call was blocked.

Technician's Assistant: Is there anything else the Phone Expert should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

I think my husband tried to answer the phone and did something.

Sorry to hear of any issue with your phone(s) or service.

To help with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Make and Model Number of the phone SYSTEM you are working with? Since this is a cordless system, that model should be printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the LARGER MAIN base (not a cordless handset or charger).

2) When calls come in, does the Caller ID of ANY of these calls appear in the display?

3) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

Hi again,

Without the information requested in my first/previous response, I can only give you a general answer, but I hope this helps.

Since calls can be blocked by EITHER the phone in use OR the SERVICE provider, a simple TEST would be to physically disconnect the current phone system and then connect a DIFFERENT WORKING phone in its place and then have someone TRY to call - to see if the call rings through.

IF the test call DOES come through then we will KNOW that the original PHONE was blocking the calls.

But IF the test call DOES NOT come through then we will KNOW that the SERVICE is blocking the calls.

Once we KNOW which item is blocking the calls, then the appropriate ACTION can be taken, which will be either:

Contact the service provider's support group - to remove the call block OR
Disable ALL call blocking features of the phone system in use.
