You need to do this from your home phone, not a cell,

so from your home phone, you pick up the line and dial the full 10 digit home phone number, it may ring a few times, but should go into the voicemail system after that

Okay that is the process to dial into the voicemail service,

*99 does not always work, comcast may have made a change to their servers, so this is what you'll need to use going forward to access your voicemail and check messages.

You need to listen to the prompts, it should give you audible prompts such as press 1 for new messages, etc

There should be audible prompts given for that, just as before,

if you hear none, then there are not any new messages to begin with.

If you hear just the greeting, then you need to press the * or # button and enter your pin number first.

why would I have a pin#

That is a function of comcast, they always assign (or have you set) a pin number to allow for checking messages remotely and to secure your account.

You should not need it if calling from home typically, I'm just stating that if you can't seem to access messages otherwise, you may need to *try* the pin.

Otherwise if it does not state new messages, then there aren't any to listen to in the first place.
