My Panasonic wireless phone has changed the voice mail (VM)

My Panasonic wireless phone has...
My Panasonic wireless phone has changed the voice mail (VM) access to ""PLAY" and system does not go thru the usual automatic procedure, and the display shows "messages full" but I always delete messages they are answered. The answering system seems to be inoperable!!!
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: KX-TGDA20 Panasonic
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: About 3 weeks now. I am trouble shooting now.
JA: Anything else you want the Electronics Expert to know before I connect you?

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Model Number of the phone system you are working with? Since this is a cordless system, that model should be printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the MAIN base station (model sent is for a cordless handset).

2) How are messages normally listened to (pressing a PLAY button on the main base, or some other method)?

3) What landline phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

The phone service is provided by VERIZON, who were contacted and they said that the problem is with the equipment (phone).
