Ok Trying to help my 83 yo mother. She said the calls came up as "Blocked"
Electronics Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

Does the number that is being blocked, show, when she sees the 'Blocked' message?

Ask Your Own Phone Systems Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
The calls are from a friend. She tried to call my mom last night two times. I was here and remember her looking at the phone and saying that is the seconded blocked call tonight, i wonder who it is. this morning when she called her friend, her friend said the calls had been blocked.
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
She doesn't recall if the number is ***** i would expect not since she would have recognized it last night
Electronics Technician: Russell H., Service Tech replied 9 months ago

OK, that seems like good evidence.

Now, if the friend has not changed her phone #, if the friend's phone # is known, and if that number is ***** in the Blocked Numbers list on your mother's phone, then trying a different phone on the line is advisable. Its Block function seems to have become erratic... there is no function of that sort of phone regularly working that would be irregular in the way you describe.

Also trying a different phone on the line would enable you to tell whether it is a line problem or a problem with the phone line service provider.

So in short, I recommend replacing the phone. It's something to try.
