I cannot get a...

I cannot get a dial tone. Is is it because the Find Handset In use red light is on? I have not noticed it on prevously. If it should not be on how do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Just a day or two. I have tried touching other keys.

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of any issue with your phone(s).

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) How many TOTAL cordless handsets do you have with this system, and if more than one, do ALL handsets have this issue (no dial tone)?

3) What landline phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

4) Do you have ANY other devices/phones (NOT part of the Vtech system) attached to this same phone line and if so, are they working properly?

First:

Back to the question at hand - about no dial tone - and our troubleshooting of that issue.

Do you have or can get access to a DIFFERENT PHONE (basic corded phone is best), that can be connected to the phone service IN PLACE OF the Vtech BASE? That is, disconnect the phone cord from the phone jack (in the wall?), and connect the DIFFERENT phone and then TEST for the dial tone?

What this will do is TEST if this is a PHONE ISSUE - with the Vtech system - OR an issue with the SERVICE - from the provider.

Once we KNOW where the issue is, we can take the "next step" in troubleshooting.

Please let me know if you can do this TEST and the results.
