I can not get any line on my phone. I have one phone

I can not get...

I can not get any line on my phone. I have one phone connected to router and the other in the wall socket. The one connected to router has a signal but not the second phone.

Technician's Assistant: How old is the phone?

Just bought it It is a KX-TGD310SP panasonic

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?

It has not worked since I bought it 2 weeks ago. I do not know what troubleshooting I can do....

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the phone expert to know before I connect you?

The same make and model as the other phone.

ok, but you will only ever have one connection and this is via the router.

You have two main units there so only one can run, not both on one line.

What you need to do is get a system that uses a main phone and extensions, such as this

The main phone connects to the router, and the two extensions wirelessly connect to the base unit.
