I have Uniden D1688 base phone with accessory handsets. This

I have Uniden D1688 base phone with accessory handsets. This morning the display on the base phone is blank but the line still works. Accessory phones not able to synch with the base. I unplugged and replugged the base into the wall but nothing happens. The owners manual has no trouble shooting section that I have found.
JA: How old is the phone?
Customer: I've had it 6 yrs. The owners manual is dated 2010.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: 12 hrs. I unplugged/replugged the power. Nothing changed. Phone line is working.
JA: Anything else you want the phone expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hi there and welcome

Can you unplug all base units and also take out the batteries from the handset.

Then wait 10 minutes, then first connect the power to the base unit then put the batteries into the handsets.

Tell me if this then resolves it please.

There is no battery in the base. I am not home and will have to try this when I return home.
