I purchased an AT&T Corded/Cordless Answering System (CL84115. The phone has been working perfectly and suddenly it stopped functioning.
JA: Who is your email provider (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.)?
Customer: Can you be of help? Outlook
JA: How do you access your email most often? On a phone or tablet, or through a web browser?
Customer: At work (computer)
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I'm a ludite (sp?), so not having any tech expertise I tried unplugging, pushing all the keyboard buttons, etc. The phone just appears dead.
JA: Anything else you want the email expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not really

Initially, is the AC power adapter plugged in correctly into an outlet? ...and the other end into the base unit's power adapter jack at the back of the base unit?

Have you tried unplugging the base unit's AC power adapter for a period of time? ...and then plugging back in but into a different outlet?

Was the AC power adapter warm to the touch when first unplugged?
