Good morning,
We have a vetch phone (base + 3 handsets) - CS6648. It works fine most of the time, but occasionally, a message “out of reach” and “no power at base” appears.
When condition is present, the “in use” light appears as does the power on indicator, but there is no dial tone and anyone trying to call us receives a busy signal.
This has happened several times the past 2 weeks. No power surges involved.
Disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet and re-connecting it a few minutes later clears the situation.
What is causing this and what is the remedy?
