After a 3 hour power blackout, my cordless phone is stuck on a "NEW Voice Mail. PRESS VM". When I press VM, it goes to a message saying.."We're sorry.the service you are trying to use is not available on this line". Nothing I do gets rid of it. I want to return to the normal screen showing date & time.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: PanAsonic cordless home phone
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Since yesterday. The local Peterborough Utilities shut the power off for 3 hours in my neighborhood. When power was restored at approx. 1 PM, this problem started. I tried unplugging all wires to the base unit, went through all menu items. Nothing worked.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Before the pre-recorded message starts, the number9 is displayed.
