OK - do you have a DIFFERENT phone - that you can attach to the phone line - so we can TEST if the Panasonic is actually blocking the call, or perhaps something else?

That is, disconnect the Panasonic base unit from the phone line and connect the different phone - then have the neighbor TRY to call - and see if the call comes into the different phone.

Does that make sense?

OK - that's fine.

Do you have a friend or neighbor you could BORROW a phone from - just for this TEST?

Also, do you have ANY indication that the 90 year old has TRIED to call you, such as hearing a SINGLE ring, and then their Caller ID appears on the display of the Panasonic phones (check the Caller List)?

One other question:

When you check the caller list AFTER they have tried to call you, do you see the "blocked call" icon - NEXT TO their caller ID?

I have attached an ENLARGED image of that icon.

OK - not a problem with not having another physical phone to connect.

Do you have CURRENT access to the 90 year old's phone - right now (or in the next few minutes)?

IF SO, you can simply DISCONNECT the Panasonic main base unit (at the phone cord), and place a NEW TEST CALL to your number, and see if the call is still blocked and you get that same "not taking calls from this number" response.

That will tell us IF the Panasonic (or some other system) is doing the blocking.

Possible results (when Panasonic is disconnected from the phone line):

- The TEST CALL now rings and rings for quite a while

- The TEST CALL is still "blocked" with the "not taking calls" message (almost immediately).

- The TEST CALL goes to some "Voicemail" system - after a certain number of rings (typically 4-5 rings).

- Something else.

And you left the Panasonic DISCONNECTED DURING these test calls - is that correct?

That would be the PHONE CORD connection that I'm referring to.
