I have the RCA H5401 and it says not reg but i 't know how

Hello I have the RCA H5401 and it says not reg but i don't know how to register it
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: It worked before but stopped. I just noticed it today
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I unplugged it for 5 mins

Okay there are a few things we can try here, though this most often comes down to a hardware issue, these rca systems have very high failure rates and we often see the handsets die.

The first step is to fully reset the system:

1) unplug both power and phone lines from the main base.
2) remove batteries from handset
3) wait at least 15 minutes, then restore all
4) place a handset on the base for a minute, as if to charge
5) check for functionality.

If no change, we'll manually reregister it as the next step.
