Hello & Welcome,

I'm Greg and will do my best to assist you today.

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your phones.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

2) If you have ANY other devices (phones, fax, answering machine, etc.) attached to this same phone line and if so, are they working properly?

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ATT.All other devices are working

Posted by JustAnswer at customer's request) Hello. I would like to request the following Expert Service(s) from you: Live Phone Call. Let me know if you need more information, or send me the service offer(s) so we can proceed.
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

Hi again and thanks for that information.

Can you tell me:

1) What OTHER devices you have attached to this phone line, especially any answering systems and

2) How do you "normally" retrieve your messages?

Thanks

Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

Hi again,

I see you may have attempted to request a Premium Service (phone call), but that request did NOT come through to my side of this system.

If you can, try to reply back here so we can continue in this format.

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Attached to fax. Messages come via email***@******.***
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

OK - let me see if I have your information correct:

1) AT&T is your phone company (service provider) and

2) You ONLY get your messages (voice messages) via email - at a gmail account?

Is that correct?

If so, is there ANY other way you can get your voice messages?

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't know. Of course I would like to receive voice mail messagesHow would I do this?
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

OK - I'm not clear on your response.

You said "I don't know"

What don't you know - your service provider???

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ATT. What other ways could I get these Messages?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I wish to clear my messages because I am unable to retrieve messages now due to a full box.
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

Hi again,

Sorry for any delay - my computer seems to be having trouble connecting.

Can you try picking up one of your handsets and dialing your own number?

This is only a FIRST TEST to see what happens, and we may be ale to do more.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I get a message to enter your area code and phone number after I had just done so.
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

Hmm... That's interesting.

OK - is this AT&T service a "direct wired" service,

OR

Is it via the AT&T "U-verse" system?

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The latter
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

OK - so I will assume U-verse.

OK - let's try this:

Please pick up ANY handset in your system, press the TALK button and QUICKLY listen for the dial tone.

Let me know if you hear a few "beeps" or "pulsed" dial tones - IMMEDIATELY after pressing the TALK button - and then a CLEAR dial tone.

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Beeps then a clear dial tone
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

OK - very good. Those "beeps" confirm that the provider's "Voicemail" system is sending your phones a "signal" that voicemail is waiting OR the system needs some attention.

So let send you the steps for how you can get into that voicemail system from your home phone. This is an image of the instructions, so you MAY have to click on the image NAME to see the instructions.

Please let me know if you have ANY trouble seeing the instructions, as I can type them out - if needed.

Thanks, ***** *****

I don't know my PIN number.
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

If you have never used the system, the PIN MAY BE the last 4 digits of your phone number.

Please give that a try.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I tried*98 but nothing happened. Now what?
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

Hi again,

Did you press the TALK button, then WAIT for the CLEAR DIAL TONE, and then press the * 9 8?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I get to the point od entering a new PIN from 8-10 digits followed by the pound key but the system are not taking the new PIN
Expert:  Greg A. replied 1 year ago.

OK - it sounds like you may need to have the PIN set by someone at the AT&T support group. Let me give you their contact information.

AT&T Customer Support : 1(###) ###-####/strong>

Go through menu to reach "Technical Support" (available 24/7)

Please let me know what you find or if you have any more questions.

And when you are ready, please take a moment to rate MY service level (Excellent is my goal) so that I get credit for my time helping you today.

You should see some "stars" to do that, but please let me know if you do NOT see them (you may have to scroll UP or DOWN) or can not use them.

Thanks, ***** *****
