Yes, any phone call is a "premium service" and the fee would be in ADDITION to the current fee.

If you are on a limited income, do NOT use that premium service.

OK - typically there is NOTHING you can do to turn OFF the Caller ID information that is COMING IN - to your phones.

In other words, having a feature for "privacy" is what most service providers offer for ONLY OUTGOING CALLS.

So I doubt that there is anything you could have done to turn off or change the INCOMING Caller ID information.

Does that makes sense?

OK - let's not worry about "blocked numbers" right now, and focus ONLY on the Caller ID issue.

Another question and TEST:

If you call your Comcast number FROM your CELL PHONE - right now - and let the Comcast phone ring at least 2 times, does ANY of the Caller ID information from your cell phone appear on the Panasonic - including the phone NUMBER?

And did the CORRECT (complete) information for you cell phone appear BEFORE this all began (a couple of weeks ago)

OK - that's good information.

Can I assume that you (or someone else) have tried to turned ON the Call Block for Out of Area calls?

If so, do you want to turn that OFF now?

OK - let's give that a try then.

To do this you will need one of the cordless handsets.

Pick up a cordless handset and press the following keys ONLY - in the sequence shown.

1) Press MENU # ***** 4 0 (this takes you directly to the call block setting for "Out of Area" calls).

2) Press the UP or DOWN arrow (top & bottom of round key) to highlight the OFF setting.

3) Press the SAVE soft key (button below the display - right under the word SAVE).

4) Press the OFF button (to exit programming).

That should turn OFF the call block for Out of Area calls, and they should ring through now. You may want to TEST this by having someone with an out of area number call you, and make sure it will ring MORE than 2 times AND you can answer the call.

No - you NEED to use the Cordless handset to do this sequence.

BUT, you do have to be "in range" of the main base unit.

Steps are listed above.

Let me paste them here again.

OK - did the TEST CALL ring more than 2 times?

AND does it still show the blocked icon when that call was made?

OK - it sounds like the block for out of area calls was NOT cleared.

OR - there could be an "out of area" number stored in the "blocked list".

Do you know how to access the "blocked list" - and scroll through those entries?

As for entries not coming through here, sometimes it takes SEVERAL SECONDS for your message to come through or appear on YOUR screen - after the "Send" button is clicked.

Just WAIT for several seconds next time.

Yes, the block number SHOULD be displayed - as your scroll through the list.

I believe your system has a LIMIT of 30 numbers, so it shouldn't take too long to scroll through.

If you need it, to get to the list, use the cordless handset and

1) Press MENU # ***** 1 7

2) Use the UP or DOWN arrows to scroll through the list.

NOTE: There should be an ERASE option showing - above a soft key - IF you want to ERASE any of the numbers on the list.

OK - next step is to RESET the MAIN BASE UNIT of the system.

That is done by removing the POWER ADAPTER and the PHONE CORD from the main base unit and leaving them disconnected for AT LEAST 15 minutes. This should allow enough time for the memory & settings of the base to clear.

Then reconnect the MAIN BASE UNIT to power and the phone line, and CHECK the "Out of Area" blocking setting again - to make sure it is OFF.

Then do a NEW TEST CALL - to see if the call comes through (rings more than 2 times).

This is simple - just disconnect the phone cord from the main base unit (leave it disconnected during this test), and then place a TEST CALL From your cell to your Panasonic phone number.

LISTEN for the response in the cell phone, and let me know if it rings and rings - OR if it rings only once, and then cuts you off - or otherwise responds in the same way as when the main base is connected.

It goes to an "Answering machine"??? Interesting.

That may actually be the provider's "voicemail system" - UNLESS you have another system with an answering machine on the line.

Does the FAX machine have an answering machine function OR

do you have a DIFFERENT answering system on this phone line (that you know of)?
