one of the lines is now constantly ringing and when picked up you hear
a dialtone---- have to place on hold and leave it one hold to stop it

Hi Leslie,

Try swapping the handset with another one to rule out any fault with it.

If the problem persists on the same line, try swapping the line with another one and let me know if the problem transfers to another line - if it does, then the card the problem line is connected to likely has a fault.
