Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your phones.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:
1) The Make & Model Number of the phone system you are working with?

2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Panasonic model number kx-tga470

Hi again and thanks for that information.

The "kx-tga470" is the model of a handset, so can you please find the MAIN base unit of the system and send the model of that (usually printed on a label on the bottom of the base).

Hi again,

That looks like a part number for an AC power adapter.

The MAIN BASE UNIT is a LARGE "base" that is connected to the phone cord and an AC adapter.

Please look for that main base unit and see if you can find a Model there? It should START with KX-TG, and then be followed by 3 or 4 numbers.

Hi again,

I have attached a diagram of some example systems, showing the main components, to help you find the MAIN base unit.

Note: You may have to click the file name to see the diagram.
