Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,
Sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your phones.
May I ask:
1) The Make & Model Number of the phone system/answering system you are working with?
2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?
3) Where your messages are saved (stored)?

Dect 6.0 Verizon Phone base station
Expert:  Greg A. replied 2 years ago.
Hi again and thanks for that information.
OK - DECT 6.0 is a 'generic' term for many models of cordless phone systems.
May I ask if you are near and can look at the bottom or back of the MAIN BASE UNIT of the system, and find a Make (brand) and Model number printed there?

V Tech modelDS6322-4
Expert:  Greg A. replied 2 years ago.
Hi again and thanks for that model.
Sorry for any delay.
In order to get the messages remotely, you will need to call from a touch-tone phone, and then when the system picks up and STARTS to play the announcement, you will need to enter a 2-digit "remote code" - to get to the messages.
The "default" code for this system is 19 (one-nine), and should still be the same IF you have not changed it.
As a reference, I have a link to the electronic (PDF) version of the manual for you below, and you can find this information on pages 63-68 (remote code use and commands mentioned on page 68).
Please give that a try from a remote touch-tone phone - to TEST if it works for you.
