Before you go through the process of disconnecting, you may be able to improve the situation. If you're having an issue with the MJ cutting out, fading, echoing, etc it is almost always due to the speed of your internet connection.

In most cases, you can call up your phone/cable company (internet provider) and have them bump up your speed to the next level, an upgrade to a higher speed package typically goes in about $10 increments, and will boost your performance of not only the MJ but also your other internet access, watching netflix movies, etc

As far as disconnecting the MJ, you could certainly cancel your subscription. You should know however that once you've "ported" your old number over to MJ, it is nearly impossible to get it back, if you were wanting to send it to another provider. You'll be better off getting a new number with the new company.

Besides cancelling the MJ service, which you'd do by logging in to my.magicjack.com, then going into the orders/billing service/chat function, you could consider keeping it active, but go in and record a new outgoing message so all callers hear something like "we have a new number, please call us at xxx-xxx-xxxx, do not leave a message here"
