Page 35 on the bottom " recording time" on set up menu tells what do set the answering machine recording time which you can select 1 -3 Minutes choices or greetings only.

Select the appropricate recording time.

and pg 46 top right hand side explains in details how to change that.

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX afraid I misstated the question. When a caller calls, they are NOT getting MY prerecorded message, but it goes automatically into a system pre-recorded message saying my call has been forwarded into an automated voice recording system. My own answering machine is not picking up the message. However, I can go on my computer and retreive the message from Comcast.

Oh ok, What you need to do is to go to your comcast settings and set number of ring 7. Then set numbr of rings on your answering machine to 5.

This will make your phone pick the message before comcast does. This will not work when you are on the phone.
