Augmentin, which is the brand name of the antibiotic you're taking is very strong and a probiotic is a good idea to take with this medication. I will quickly provide you with an answer - first I would like to know have you taken any medication yet? If so, when did you start taking this medication.

So, if you haven't started taking the medication yet, and you received it today - Take one pill as soon as possible (this medication has to be taken with food). Ideally, this medication should be taken 12 hours apart (i.e. if you take a pill at 11 A.M. then the second pill would be taken at 11 P.M. This may be difficult, so as long as the tablets are spread apart by at least 10 hours that is okay too. For example, if you took the first pill at 11 am then you can take the second at 9 pm. (11 pm would be best but not necessary)

As for the probiotic, you only need to take 1 capsule daily. This must be done at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after your dose of antibiotic. If you take it with the antibiotic the effects of the antibiotic will be decreased.

I would recommend, taking the probiotic first, then taking the first dose of Augmentin 1 hour later. Then your second dose at least 10 hours later. Follow that daily. Keep in mind - again - Augmentin must be taken with food - otherwise, it will upset your stomach. The probiotic can be taken with or without food.

Ok thank you. I’ll take probiotic first. I find this augmentin really strong, I feel dizzy and I’m sweating. Im I’m it for ureplasma and a uti and I had no symptoms before

I know Augmentin is really strong, but it is very good to treat UTIs and the dizziness should subside after the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. Do not stop taking the medication without speaking with the prescriber first. If for whatever reason the side effects (mostly abdominal cramps and diarrhea - which will be helped by the probiotic) become an issue - the prescriber could give you a different antibiotic. However, again if you take the probiotic daily - that usually takes care of the uncomfortable side effects.

Ok thank you! Is it good for Ureaplasma too. They did a test and found both so much doctor wanted to prescribe me something that would treat both bacterias. It’s very strong! I feel like I’m floating lol

It is not the best antibiotic for ureaplasma, but Augmentin can still be effective for it. The two leading antibiotics for this are doxycycline or azithromycin

When you say you feel like you're floating. do you feel a sensation like you are outside your body? How much augmentin have you taken so far?

dizziness is common with this antibiotic but feeling like you are floating is not. If this does not subside within a day then notify the prescriber.
