I want to take childrens chewable advil because I have a bad

Customer Question

I want to take childrens chewable advil because I have a bad sore throat and am having trouble swallowing pills. The box says not intended for adults whoch doesnt make sense of you are going by milligrams for dosage. I called the advil company and the rep told me it is a different formulation and they cant recommend for adults. I said I dont get that. She said the childrens only goes up to 97 pounds. Anyway we kept debating. Never did make sense. So I am asking you for your wisdom?

There is absolutely no reason you can't take it.

This is quite funny that the company wouldn't give you a straight answer.

Like there is some special trait children have that allow them to take this...LOL

yes, you can take it

I thought so. I took 4 of them which equals 400 mg. The only thing is they are very irritating on the throat.

Yes, I wouldn't make a habit out of it but you should be fine

Would the chewables be more likely to cause stomach irritation vs the swallow kind. I feel like the swallow kind did irritate my throat. I really dont want to swallow the normal one. Throat is really bothering me.

No, it wouldn't

The throat is already sore from your illness

that is probably the main cause of sore throat. Not the pills
