i have been on lo loestrin fe birth control pill for about a week and three days today and had un protected sex. do you recommend i take a plan b or what else can i do?

Thank you for your question. A second non-hormonal form of contraception OR Plan B should be used until you have been taking Loestrin for at least 7 consecutive days. If you have been taking it for 10 consecutive days as noted in your question, Plan B would not be necessary. In the future, if you miss a dose(s) of Loestrin, it is recommended to use a non-hormonal form of contraception for at least 7 days following the restart of Loestrin OR if you have unprotected sex Plan B would be necessary.
