Customer Question

i have a very stuborn sinus infection & have been taking bactrim, plus doing a saline nasal irrigation with bacitrain.... unfortunately, I'm having an allergic reaction (worsening cough, tight chest, swollen ankles, slightly swollen tongue). How long does it take for the meds to wear off?

The half life of the two drugs in the antibiotic is 10 hours. It takes roughly 4.5 half lives to eliminate from the body so roughly 45 hours or two days. The Sulfa component is the most likely ingredient you are allergic too. You should notify your pharmacy of the new allergy and all medical professionals from now on. Hopefully this fully answers your question. Once satisfied please rate my answer. Thanks.
